Betsy Hedberg, M.A., Denver Career Counseling

Like so many of us, I have had my own share of career- and job-related angst. These experiences have prompted my desire to help people find more meaning and balance in their lives and to find work that truly feeds their souls and matches their values. I combine my unique professional background into my work with clients:

  • Master's degree in counseling from Regis University in Denver
  • Clinical training in career counseling at the University of Colorado at Boulder
  • Ongoing professional development through the Colorado Career Development Association
  • Professional training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction under the direction of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and Dr. Saki Santorelli of the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society
  • Professional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a mindfulness-based psychotherapy
  • Instructor and curriculum developer for the SMART-in-Education program, a stress reduction program for teachers (I currently teach in Jefferson County and Denver Public Schools)
  • Meditation Instructor at Naropa University in Boulder
  • Coursework in ecopsychology at Naropa University
  • Master's degree in cultural geography at UCLA, focusing on people’s attitudes toward and relationships with their culture and environment
  • Personal history interviews since 2004
  • 12 years facilitating adult education courses
  • 13 years developing innovative curriculum materials for adult and K-12 classes
